Musical instruments

Our woodwind and brass players double on their common doubling instruments. However any doubling instrument needs should be included ahead of time in the orchestra lineup request.

All our double basses are 5-string instruments or have the C extension.

Instrument rental fee will be charged for percussion instruments, Harp, Piano as well as any uncommon instruments requested (i.e. Cimbasso or Wagner Horn.)

Our studio owns the following instruments:

Steinway Model D concert grand pianos (2)

Harpsichord (William Dowd), Celeste: (Mustel), Organs (2): (Rieger, Aquincum)

Remote Sessions

In the event of Remote Sessions where the composer cannot be present in the recording studio, we stream the audio and video via Zoom and Listento. All you need is Chrome browser and a microphone.

After the completion of the recording session, all session files will be available for download within 24 hours.

Booking

Sessions must be booked at least 14 days in advance; however, we encourage you to book sessions early in order to have a greater selection of available studio dates. Finalizing a session booking requires 50% payment.

Payment

Lock your session by making a deposit payment. The second portion shall be payable within 3 days (72 hours) of the completion of the session. For Shared Sessions we require full advance payment.

Preferred payment methods:

  • U.S.: wire transfer, Zelle
  • Non-U.S.: wire transfer (wire transfer fee shall be paid by the sender)

Delivery

Scores and parts shall be delivered in PDF format in the following sizes: A3 for scores and A4 for parts.

Pro Tools sessions shall be delivered as PTX files. If you don’t have access to Pro Tools you can send a MIDI map alternatively.

Delivery deadline is firmly 24 hours prior to the session start.

Data storage

We understand that accidents happen. A damaged hard drive could be an incredible loss. In case of any unforeseeable circumstances where information is lost, we store your session data for 3 months after the date of your recording session unless requested otherwise.

Cancellation or Postponement

A. Rescheduling
  1. Budapest Scoring recording sessions can be rescheduled one time for no cost at least 7 days prior to the scheduled recording session. The new recording date has to be within a reasonable time-frame, not to exceed 90 days. Unless otherwise specifically agreed in writing by Budapest Scoring, to the extent that the rescheduling occurs the second time or is over 90-days, it shall be considered to be a cancellation, subject to the terms below.
  2. In the event that rescheduling occurs within 7 days prior to the scheduled Budapest Scoring recording session, it shall be considered to be a cancellation, subject to the terms below.
B. Cancellation
  1. In the event of cancellation of a Budapest Scoring recording session, 10% of the QUOTE price shall be paid if the cancellation occurs not less than one week (seven days) before the recording session.
  2. In the event of cancellation of a Budapest Scoring recording session, 50% of the QUOTE price shall be paid if the cancellation occurs less than one week (seven days) but more than three days (72 hours) before the recording session.
  3. In the event of cancellation of a Budapest Scoring recording session, 100% of the QUOTE price shall be paid if the cancellation occurs less than three days (72 hours) of the recording session.
